Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Perfect for anyone that struggles to get down on the ground to do a workout or has balance problems.
EMCC member Katarina Vuckovic will be leading two trial sessions (no charge for trail sessions) at the hall to gage interest for future sessions. The hope is to eventually have a morning time-slot that would be on-going, but Katarina’s schedule currently doesn’t align with the hall calendar.
Dates for the sessions are:
Friday October 20th at 1:30-2:30pm
Friday November 3rd at 1:30-2:30pm
Katarina Vuckovic came to yoga from a need to continue moving after a gap in her life-long classical dance training. She fell in love with the therapeutic elements of the practice. She completed her teacher’s training in the Hatha and Ashtanga styles at the Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto, and started to teach in 2009. She experiences yoga as a path that helps deepen connection to people, community and the land – and therefore helps to heal. Her guidance-style is to encourage students to feel deeply into their bodies and find their edges with compassion and gentleness. She brings to the mat her love of dance and improvisation, her connection to nature, and her experience as a mother.
Please email to register for one or both sessions prior to Wednesday, October 18th. These sessions are for EMCC members only.
