Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Now installed at the Eden Mills & District Community Hall inside the front door, on the wall to your left. Many group leaders have been trained in the use but we invite everyone to watch the video or read the manual. Hopefully it will not be needed, but it is great to know we have this device.
First aid courses are now training people to bring this device to the patient anytime 911 has been called. It can save a life if needed.
In November 2016 a private rental group had one attendee who had a minor heart attack. 911 was called but no one took the AED to the patient as his heart had not stopped. If the patient had become worse during the wait for the ambulance a rush to get the AED could have been fatal. This device was a generous donation to the community hall. Please become aware of where it is located and be sure to grab it if you call 911 for any reason.
